Instructions for upload or FTP files

 

 

    Before uploading your files, you should Zip them up into a single Zip file. By doing that, you have several benefits: First of all, the total number of Bytes being uploaded will be smaller and therefore save on uploading time . Secondly, you only need to upload a single file instead of uploading several files one by one, and thirdly, if you password protect it ( you have to Email us the password ),  you can avoid someone else accessing your files. 

    Following are several ways to upload your files, choose one which work best for you.

- Uploading your files via anonymous FTP , Click this link ftp://ftp.lightsound.com   to open the ftp window and drag your files into the ftp window ( You can select multiple files at the same time from your file browser and then drag them over ). If this doesn't work for your operation system, please use a FTP program with the following FTP information.

Host name:   lightsound.com
User ID :     anonymous
Password:    ( leave blank )
Initial remote directory:    ( leave blank )

If  you don't have a FTP program, follow this link for a free one http://filezilla-project.org/download.php?type=client . Download the free software from there which matches your operation system ( PC or MAC ), Install and run the software. Fill in Host name and user ID mentioned above and hit the "Quickconnect" Button . Locate your file in the left window and drag over the right window ( If you download the zip file, you don't even need to install the software. Simply unzip the folder and double click on  filezilla.exe ) ( This is a totally free software, but it is also one of the best FTP software out there: very fast and with a thoughtful interface  )

- You may upload your files to our server using  this upload tool  .  A popup window will be launched , click the "Browse" button to locate your file on your computer and then click the "upload" button.  This upload tool is relatively slow and sometimes the transfer process is  terminated before completion. So make sure the message " File uploaded successfully " appears before assuming that the file is completely uploaded. Also, If our server has the file ( with the same name, complete or partial file ) , and you try to upload the second time, It will not function correctly. In this case , you need to change the file name before uploading it again.

- You can upload your files onto a third party server and we download them from there. Follow this link  http://www.sendspace.com  and fill sales@lightsound.com  in the "Recipient's Email" box, your Email address in the "Your Email" box. Hit the "Browse" button to locate the file on your computer, check the " I have read .... " box, and then hit the "Upload file" Button to upload your file there. They will Email us a link to download the file.

- If none of the method mentioned above works out for you, Email us the file if it is less than 2 MB, or send us ( Light Sound, 1434 Greenwood Dr, Piscataway, NJ 08854 ) a CD with the files on it if it is more than 2 MB.
